Fernando Padilla was firing on all cylinders against Luis Pajuelo tonight at UFC On ESPN 53, dropping his opponent in the first round, softening him further with ground-and-pound and then submitting him when he tried to stand back up.
Round One:
Calf kick from Pajuelo to start the fight. Hard calf kick from Padilla now. He goes for another and Pajuelo checks it.
Jab for Padilla as Pajuelo was coming forward. Now a front kick from him to the body. A couple of punches land for Pajuelo now as he comes forward aggressively.
Padilla with a couple of front kicks. More kicks follow as he works multiple levels. Good elbow from Padilla. Now a knee.
Body kick for Padilla. Kick for Pajuelo and a punch. Check hook for Padilla and now a left hand that drops Pajuelo! Padilla in half-guard and stacking up to land ground-and-pound. Now elbows raining down.
Pajuelo showing his toughness to absorb that and try to battle back to his feet, but as he does so he gets caught in a standing d’arce choke and quickly forces his opponent to tap out at 2.45mins of the opening round.
