Glover Teixeira made short work of Rashad Evans tonight in the main event of UFC On FOX 19, knocking him out cold in less than two minutes.
Round One:
The main event of the evening is underway. Evans on the outside as Teixeira starts to wade forward. Evans catches him with a hook and they clinch.
Quickly moving apart Teixeira lands a punch to the body. Left and a right from Teixeira and a counter from Evans. Big right from Evans misses as Teixeira comes forward again.
Evans circling the cage on the outside and he gets dropped by a perfect left hook to the chin. Before the dazed Evans can even attempt to right himself on his knees a big right connects and knocks him out. Teixeira gets a huge KO victory with just 1.48mins on the clock in the first round.
That’s the kind of decisive win that will push Teixeira back into the outskirts of title contention, but on the other hand it’s the kind of tough loss that may leave the 36 year-old Evans wondering whether it’s time to hang up his gloves.
