Kickboxing star Gokhan Saki will return to the Octagon against Khalil Rowntree at UFC 219 in Las Vegas on December 30th.
The 33-year-old Saki is only just coming off a successful UFC debut at Fight Night 117 a few weeks ago, where he claimed ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors for his hard-hitting scrap with Henrique da Silva, who he stopped by way of knockout late in the first round.
That was Saki’s first fight in well over two years, and only his second ever MMA fight, and it seems that he’s eager to continue to make a name for himself in his new sport, after having already compiled a long and decorated career in the kickboxing ring, where he holds a formidable 83-12 (+1nc) record.
Now he’ll face the 27-year-old Rowntree, who is coming off back-to-back wins in the Octagon, knocking out both Daniel Jolly and Paul Craig in the first round in his 2017 campaign.
Prior to that Rowntree’s UFC career off to a rough start with two losses in a row, with his overall career record currently standing at 6-2.
Saki Vs Rowntree joins a growing list of UFC 219 fights that includes the likes of Dominick Cruz Vs Jimmie Rivera, Cynthia Calvillo vs Carla Esparza and Carlos Condit Vs Neil Magny, though at the time of writing the main and co-main event has yet to be announced.
