GSP And Alexander Gustafsson Reach Final Of ‘EA Sports UFC’ Cover Vote

For several days now fans have been voting on who they’d like to see appear alongside Jon Jones on the cover of the ‘EA Sports UFC’ video game which will be released next year, and we’re now down to the final two fighters.

Welterweight champion Georges St.Pierre made it to the final after getting more votes than Chris Weidman in the first round, Johny Hendricks in the second, and Anthony Pettis in the third.

In the final he faces former light-heavyweight No.1 contender Alexander Gustafsson who garnered more votes than Daniel Cormier initially, then Miesha Tate and Chael Sonnen.

You can vote for which of the two fighters you’d like to see on the cover at: http://www.ufc.com/covervote.  Voting ends on December 2nd.

If it’s GSP who wins, and there’s a good chance he will given his superstar status, then that’ll mean the cover features the two fighters currently ranked No.1 and No.2 on the current pound for pound rankings.

On the other hand, if it’s Gustafsson then you’ll have the two fighters who fought in one of, if not the, best fight of 2013.  The fact that Gustafsson made the final at all shows just how much fans took to mild-mannered Swede after the torrid time he gave Jones in their title clash at UFC 165 in September.

It could be a case of perfect timing as EA Sports UFC is currently believed to be targeted for a Spring release, and if Jones and Gustafsson both win their next fights around that time then they are set for a money-spinning rematch later in the year.
