Santiago Ponzinibbio made surprisingly short work of Gunnar Nelson in the main event of UFC Fight Night 113 tonight, knocking him out early in the first round.
Round One:
The main event of the evening is underway in Glasgow!
Tense moments and then Nelson lands a grazing uppercut and another punch behind it that sends Ponzinibbio backwards.
Nelson surges forward with a hook. Another quick punch as he swiftly closes the distance. Now a leg kick.
Now it’s Ponzinibbio with a right hand and he staggers Nelson. Ponzinibbio chases him and unleashes a flurry of strikes. A straight left then floors Nelson and a few follow-up punches on the mat seal a stunning knockout victory for Ponzinibbio just 82 seconds into the fight!
Great stuff from Ponzinibbio. He’s been quietly putting together a quality run in the UFC for some time now, but this could be the performance that really brings him into the spotlight as nobody has ran through Nelson like that before.
