Dana White suggested that perhaps Holly Holm should consider retiring following her head kick TKO loss against Amanda Nunes on Saturday night at UFC 239, but it seems ‘The Preacher’s Daughter’ isn’t finished with the fight game yet.
“You know, I always say, I get to live the life of a dream,” Holm said. “I never actually dreamed of getting kicked in the face. It’s never a part of my dream. That’s like part of my nightmare. Living a little nightmare, waking up every morning you’re like, ‘Yup, that’s real. That just happened.’”
Nevertheless, the 37-year-old Holm appears to be keeping a positive atitude about the situation.
“I just want you guys to know I’m feeling good, and I know one thing: I’m still pushing forward. A lot of a heartbreak right now, but I’m doing fine, and I just want you to know that I appreciate the love and support.
“And if you would like to have free lip filler, just get kicked in the face.”
Holm’s manager Lenny Fresquez has meanwhile seperately confirmed that it is his fighter’s intention to continue fighting despite her latest title loss.
“(Retirement is) absolutely out of the question,” Fresquel told the Albuquerque Journal. “Big bold headline: Absolutely not retiring! Fresquez told the Albuquerque Journal.
“In all seriousness, that (declaration) is what Holly wants. She’s so sick of hearing that (question).”
