Invicta FC 8 took place last night live on UFC Fight Pass and we’ve got all the results for you below.
In the main event Michelle Waterson retained her atomweight title in style.
It was practically one-way traffic here as ‘The Karate Hottie’ landed with her full arsenal of kicks, knees and punches against Yasuko Tamada before the referee mercifully stepped in to end her misery with a couple of the seconds of the third round remaining, handing Waterson a TKO victory.
In the co-main event Katja Kankaanpaa became Invicta’s new strawweight champion after defeating Stephanie Eggink.
Both ladies had their moments in the fight and Eggink had her opponent in some compromising positions on the mat at times, particularly in the fourth round when she took Kankaanpaa’s back and landed repeated blows to the head.
Kankaanpaa survived to the final round though and opted to take the fight to the mat again which paid off for her in a big way this time as she was able to nicely transition into the fight-ending d’arce choke.
Earlier Tonya Evinger did well against the imposing figure of Ediane Gomes, handing the Brazilian her first loss in five fights with a first round armbar submission, while Roxanne Modafferi came out on top in her trilogy fight with Tara LaRosa, outstriking her over the course of 15 minutes to win a convincing decision victory.
