Jalin Turner KO’s Bobby Green In 1st Round At UFC On ESPN 52

Jalin Turner claimed a brutal knockout finish of Bobby Green mid-way through the opening round tonight at UFC On ESPN 52, but really the ref should have stepped the beatdown a lot earlier.

Round One:

Green lunges into an early punch. One-two fired off by Turner. Fast one-two for Green now.

Oblique kick for Green. Leg kick for Turner. Now another lands. Green drives into a right hand.

thumping two-piece combo from Turner lands clean. Another left hand gets through for him and a right behind it. Now a high kick attempt from him that’s blocked.

Right hand lands for Turner and wobbles Green, with another punch to the temple sending him face-first onto the mat. Remarkably the ref doesn’t stop the fight and Turner continues to tee off on him with big ground-and-pound. Green is moving a little, but this fight should be over and he eats thunderous right hands for several more seconds until he’s completely knocked out at 2.49mins of the opening round.

It’s baffling why the ref didn’t stop this one sooner given that there was a moment when Green was literally just face down on the mat after being dropped and yet went on to eat a lot of unnecessary and damaging blows afterwards before being rendered unconscious. Grim.
