Jamahal Hill earned a big win over Ovince Saint Preux tonight at UFC On ESPN 19 by TKO as his superior cardio and volume striking took it’s toll on his opponent.
Round One:
Outside leg kick for OSP to start off. He’s taking teh center of the Octagon early here. Body punch from Hill. He lands a front kick to the body.
Side kick for OSP. Left hand from Hill. Leg kick for Saint Preux. Another side kick to the body now from him. He lands it again, this time almost caught though.
Hill with a straight left and a right behind it. Leg kick from OSP and two big body punches from Hill in return that knock his opponent off-balance.
Body kick from Hill. Oblique kick for OSP and again. Body kick connects from OSP and Hill works to the body with a punch again.
Right hand gets through for OSP. Outside leg kick for OSP knocks Hill off-balance. Hill continues to work the body as OSP works leg kicks.
Couple of left hands for Hill now. Front kick to the body for OSP. They clinch up and Hill marches OSP over to the cage. OSP trying to work a guillotine, but then they separate.
Front kicks to the body from Hill. He reaches for a right hand. Hill with straight punches to end the round.
Round Two:
Outside leg kick for OSP. Inside kick to the leg from Hill. OSP just short with head kick. A couple of punches land for Saint Preux.
Both men connect to the body. Hill trying to pressure OSP, but eats a leg kick. Jab from Hill. Head kick attempt from OSP. Solid body punch for OSP.
Hill with a head kick that’s only just blocked in time. Hard kick to the leg again from OSP and those are really adding up.
Hook and a straight from Hill, but he was reaching on the connection there. Overhand right from Hill. He lands again. OSP backed up against the cage and Hill lands several clean punches. OSP clinching up to buy some time.
OSP looking a little labored now. Right hook for Hill and a big knee. Hill pouring on the pressure here with more punches and knees. OSP quicky running out steam and is left reeling against the cage as the hits keep coming, and that’s it, the ref steps in to save him from further punishment, awarding Hill the TKO victory at 3.37mins of the second round.
