John Lineker Vs Ian McCall Announced For UFC Fight Night 56

A potential UFC flyweight title eliminator between John Lineker and Ian McCall has been announced for UFC Fight Night 56 in Brazil on November 8th.

Lineker hold a 5-2 record in the UFC to date and has been living up to his ‘Hands Of Stone’ moniker with four of his victories coming by way of punches. That includes a TKO win over Alptekin Özkiliç last time out and leaves the Brazilian currently ranked No.6 in the 125lb weight class.

McCall is placed a few notches higher than him at No.3 in the division following his most recent decision victory over Brad Pickett in Ireland a couple of months ago.

‘Uncle Creepy’ has already fought current flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson twice before, and in their first encounter came as close as anyone has to beating him at 125lbs so far, taking him to a majority draw before losing out by unanimous decision in their rematch in the summer of 2012.

McCall recently underwent a third surgery in the space of 12 months on his right hand which has broken twice before, and has since had to fight off a nasty infection that saw the hand swell up like a balloon, but a week since then he claims he’s fought that off and so the fight with Lineker has been given the green light.

The UFC appear to be assembling a strong main card for the UFC Fight Night 56 event with Lineker Vs McCall joining two previously announced light-heavyweight match-ups featuring Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua Vs Jimi Manuwa and Ovince St. Preux Vs Rafael ‘Feijao’.
