John Lineker Vs Michael McDonald Set For UFC Fight Night 91

A hard-hitting bantamweight match-up between John ‘Hands Of Stone’ Lineker and Michael ‘Mayday’ McDonald has been announced for the co-main event of UFC Fight Night 91 in South Dakota on July 13th.

Lineker is in the midst of a four-fight winning streak heading into this bout, two of which came in the 135lb weight class after he was forced due to move up from flyweight due to repeated weight-cutting issues.

The Brazilian is only days removed from his most recent win, a unanimous decision victory over Rob Font at UFC 198 last weekend, but he’s apparently happy to get back into the Octagon sooner rather than later as he looks to improve upon his current place at No.11 in the bantamweight rankings.

Meanwhile, repeated injury setbacks have set the 25 year-old McDonald’s career with over two years spent on the sidelines, but he made a successful return in January with a second round submission win over Masanori Kanehara at UFC 195 in January, leaving him placed at No.6 in the rankings as he aims his sights at getting back to a title shot in the division.

UFC Fight Night 91 takes place just a few days after the trio of events that will culminate with UFC 200 in Las Vegas the previous weekend and will be headlined by a lightweight fight between Tony Ferguson and Michael Chiesa.
