Jon Jones Spent Only One Night In Rehab After Testing Positive For Cocaine

UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones spent just one night in a drugs rehabilitation center after it was revealed last week that he had tested positive for cocaine metabolites several weeks before his UFC 182 fight with Daniel Cormier

Speaking in a new interview with WBNG, Jones mother said that it was a blessing that the fighter had been caught by the random drugs test.

“This stopped him in his tracks, this let him know that he may need to change some friends … because everyone is not for you for the best,” Camille Jones said.

“Me and my husband considered [the positive test] a blessing from God that our child was able to be helped and know that he need to stop and know that he needed the assistance to stop before it came to something worse.”

According to Mrs Jones, her son will be in attendance at the Colts Vs Patriots game this weekend where both of his brothers will be competing against each other on the field.

It’d be interesting to know what the UFC thinks about Jones blink-and-you’ll-miss-it stay in rehab given that when the news of his cocaine use first broke Dana White opted to “applaud and support” the star for seeking help with his drug problem.
