KJ Noons En-Route To The UFC Despite Controversial Loss To Ryan Couture

Despite a controversial loss to Ryan Couture at Strikeforce’s last ever event on Saturday night, KJ Noons has confirmed that he’s still be making the transition to the UFC.

“They said, ‘Heal up, and as soon as you’re healed up, then start training, and we’ll get you on a card,” Noons told MMAJunkie Radio yesterday.

Noons had appeared to get the better of Couture in a competitive three round battle on the preliminary card of the event and even the eventual winner appeared shocked when he eventually got his hand raised by way of a split decision verdict.

Given that he’s now won just one of his last five fights this could easily have ended his chances of making it to the UFC, but luckily for the former title contender Dana White was watching and he too felt the decision was an injustice.

“Ryan is tough but KJ Noons got robbed!!!” White wrote on Twitter immediately after the fight.

So Noons now gets a chance to reverse his fortunes on the sport’s biggest stage and he’s indicated he’d be interested in an immediate rematch with Couture.
