Luke Rockhold Pulls Out Of Strikeforce’s November Event

Strikeforce middleweight champion Luke Rockhold is the latest fighter to withdraw from the promotion’s November event.

Rockhold suffered a wrist injury in training and that’ll keep him out of a scheduled co-main event title defense against Lorenz Larkin.

The promotion were already struggling to find a replacement for Frank Mir who pulled out of his headline spot against Daniel Cormier recently, and after being forced to scrap an event entirely last month due to an injury to Gilbert Melendez this is the last thing they needed less than four weeks out from fight night.

The November 3rd event on Showtime falls on the same night as upstart promotion World Series Of Fighting launches it’s debut offering on NBC Sports, and with that card featuring familiar names like Andrei Arlovski, Anthony ‘Rumble’ Johnson and Miguel Torres, the pressure is now on Strikeforce to make the necessary replacements to ensure they don’t become overshadowed by the new arrival on the scene.
