Luke Rockhold Vs Chris Weidman Rematch Rumored For UFC 230

Rockhold Weidman

A rematch between former middleweight champions Luke Rockhold and Chris Weidman is believed to be in the works for UFC 230 in New York City on November 3rd.

The two stars first met at UFC 194 in Las Vegas back in December of 2015, with Rockhold emerging victorious by way of a fourth round TKO to seize the middleweight title.

Rockhold would then go on to suffer a shock first round KO loss to short-notice replacement Michael Bisping the following year. After a long layoff he rebounded in 2017 with a TKO finish against David Branch, but has since been KO’d by Yoel Romero this past February.

Meanwhile, for Weidman his title loss to Rockhold would be the beginning of a rough spell in his career where he would also go to on to be KO’d by Yoel Romero and then TKO’d by Gegard Mousasi.

However, Weidman has since bounced back with an arm-triangle choke submission victory over Kelvin Gastelum in July of last year, and now has a chance at revenge against Rockhold.

If it becomes official, Rockhold Vs Weidman will join a UFC 230 card at Madison Square Garden that only has one fight confirmed so far, another middleweight encounter between Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza and David Branch.
