Lyoto Machida Wants To Fight Michael Bisping In Early 2016

The word on yesterday’s ‘UFC Tonight’ show was that Lyoto Machida plans to return to the Octagon in early 2016 and has targeted Michael Bisping as the man he wants to fight.

Machida has been going through a rough spell in his career with three losses in his last four fights including a KO defeat against Yoel Romero last time out which put an end to any hopes the 37 year-old had of getting back into the title picture any time soon.

To be fair ‘The Dragon’ has been facing the best the division has to offer though and perhaps for that reason he does still remains ranked No.5 at 185lbs at this moment in time.

Meanwhile Bisping has put together a two-fight winning run this year with decision wins over both CB Dollaway and Thales Leites. That’s the first time ‘The Count’ has recorded back-to-back victories in over three years which has left the 36 year-old feeling he still has plenty to offer in the middleweight ranks where he’s currently placed at No.8.

This is a fight that makes a lot of sense for both men and the very fact that it’s been mentioned on UFC Tonight suggests there’s a good chance it will end up being put together by the promotion.
