Michael Bisping Vs Gegard Mousasi Signed For UFC Fight Night 83

Michael Bisping will return to his native England to the headline the UFC Fight Night 83 event in London against Gegard Mousasi on February 27th.

Bisping earned a split decision victory over Thales Leites in Glasgow, Scotland back in July, building on a unanimous decision win against CB Dolloway earlier in the year.

The always ambitious Brit is currently ranked No.7 in the middleweight division and as always is still holding out hope that he can work his way back into the title picture after his previous attempt to do so was cut short with a submission loss to Luke Rockhold last year.

In Mousasi he’s facing a former Strikeforce champion who’s also a perennial top 10 contender, but like Bisping hasn’t been able to put together a consistent enough run to earn a title shot so far.

Mousasi is coming off a TKO loss to Uriah Hall in a fight that he appeared to have been winning up until he was caught off-guard by a spinning back kick, but with wins over Dan Henderson and Costas Philippou prior to that he’s still ranked No.9 at 185lbs.

Two other bouts announced for the UK card see Makwan Amirkhani looking to go 3-0 in the UFC against Mike Wilkinson, while Rustam Khabilov squares up to Norman Parke.
