Nick Diaz To Serve Two Days In Jail For DUI Charges

Nick Diaz has been sentenced to serve two days in jail in regards to two separate DUI charges in Lodi, California dating back to September of 2013 and 2014.

Diaz’s legal team were able to get him a plea deal with prosecutors in which he pled no contest to one count of Driving Under The Influence with .08 or higher, which meant three other charges, including one DUI, were thrown out, allowing him to avoid a lengthier jail sentence.

In addition, Diaz was credited with one day served, so in reality he’ll only be required to face one night in jail, although he also received three years of informal probation and has to undergo a DUI educational course too.

Diaz last fought in the UFC back in January, losing out by unanimous decision to Anderson Silva at UFC 183. The aftermath of the fight was more controversial than the actual contest, with Diaz testing positive for marijuana, while Silva flagged positive for steroids.

This was the third time in his career that Diaz had tested positive for marijuana which left him facing another lengthy suspension, but his hearing with the Nevada State Athletic Commission has now been delayed several times by his legal team.
