Ovince St. Preux Chokes Out Nikita Krylov In First Round At UFC 171

Ovince St. Preux pulled off a rarely seen submission tonight at UFC 171 to choke Nikita Krylov unconscious, notching up his third straight victory in the Octagon since joining from Strikeforce.

Round One:

Kick and a miss from Krylov to start this one. Another misses as OSP moves out of range. Finally one does land – just a light tap though.

Then OSP lands a heavy body kick and immediately transitions into a nice takedown. He’s in side control and manages to trap one of Krylov’s arms for a moment with his leg.

Wow, OSP’s going for a Von Flue choke from side control, essentially using his shoulder to seal the choke and it’s worked – Krylov is out with 1.29mins of the opening round gone!

Great stuff from OSP – that’s the kind of finish that puts a fighter on the map.
