Rich Franklin Vs Cung Le Headlines UFC On Fuel TV 6 In China

It’s been rumored for some time, but at the weekend Dana white finally confirmed that Rich Franklin Vs Cung Le is official as the headline bout for ‘UFC On Fuel TV 6’ In China on November 10th.

Le had been an obvious choice to front the show due to the fact he’s already well known over there for his martial arts inspired movie appearance and his Sanshou fighting style, but an injured foot suffered during his win over Patrick Cote last month threatened to stop him from competing at the show.

The damage wasn’t as bad as was first feared however and he’ll now welcome former champion Franklin back to the 185lb division after his stint at 205lbs.

The two men had in fact originally been scheduled to fight at UFC 148 in July, but Franklin was instead moved to headline UFC 147 against Wanderlei Silva, a fight he won by decision.

At this stage in his career the 40 year-old Le is just taking it one fight at a time, but Franklin has admitted he still has title aspirations, and while he seems some distance off from that at the moment he was given a glimour of hope recently when Anderson Silva’s manager Ed Soares indicated that a third fight with Franklin was something the champion would be interested in.
