Rodolfo Vieira Submits Armen Petrosyan In 1st Round At UFC Fight Night 236

Rodolfo Vieira showed off his elite level Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu skills tonight at UFC Fight Night 236 as he tapped out Armen Petrosyan late in the first round with an arm triangle.

Round One:

Petrosyan taking the center of the Octagon to start. Both throw out a punch at the same time. Leg kick for Petrosyan.

Push kick to the body for Petrosyan. Body punch for Vieira. leg kick from Petrosyan. Inside leg kick for Vieira. He lands that again.

Calf kick for Petrosyan. Inside leg kick for Vieira. Inside leg kick from Petrosyan. Double jab for Vieira and Petrosyan works to the head and a low kick.

Vieira lands a takedown, but Petrosyan stands back up quickly. Vieira straight back on him though close to the cage and gets him down again.

Petrosyan on one knee and Vieira is trying to work around to his back with one hook in. Petrosyan stands and turns into vieira. Vieira already working on another takedown though and hoists him up and dumps him back down to the mat.

Vieira in a high half guard now. He nicely slides into mount and then takes the back with 45 seconds to go in the round.

Petrosyan gets onto his back. Vieira working for an arm triangle choke here with 20 seconds to go. Vieira hasn’t moved off to the side yet, but still manages to get Petrosyan to tap out anyway at 4.48mins of the opening round!
