Well folks, it looks like we’re definitely going to get our money’s worth from Strikeforce’s last ever show on January 12th.
The latest addition to the already stacked line-up is former middleweight champion Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza Vs Lorenz Larkin.
Larkin had originally been pegged as current title holder Luke Rockhold’s next challenger, but with Rockhold out injured and Strikeforce set to dissolve after this event he’s had to look elsewhere for his next fight.
‘The Monsoon’ currently has a 13-0-1 record, though that flatters to deceive a little as he was actually KO’d by Muhammed ‘King Mo’ Lawal at the start of the year before the verdict was altered to a no-contest when ‘King Mo’ tested positive for steroids post-fight.
Meanwhile, Jacare’ lost his title to Rockhold in September of last year, but has since rebounded with two victories and if he can get a victory here he could have a meaningful impact in the UFC’s middleweight division before long.
Souza and Larkin join an all-star line-up for Strikeforce’s final show that also includes the likes of Nate Marquardt, Daniel Cormier, Josh Barnett, Gegard Mousasi, Roger Gracie, KJ Noons and Tim Kennedy.
