A heavyweight bout between Roy Nelson Vs Alexander Volkov has been announced for UFC On FOX 24 in Missouri on April 15th.
Nelson claimed a second round KO victory over Antonio ‘Bigfoot’ Silva last time out in September of last year.
That was only Nelson’s third victory in his past nine fights in the UFC, so the 40-year-old will be hoping he can continue to get his hand raised as he looks to fight his way back onto the heavyweight division’s top 15 rankings.
‘Big Country’ will be going up against former Bellator heavyweight champion Alexander Volkov, who made a successful start to his UFC run in November of last year with a split decision win over Timothy Johnson.
In total Volkov is on a three-fight winning streak and ranked No.11 in the division, with a win over Nelson likely to propel him into the top 10.
Nelson Vs Volkov joins a UFC On FOX 24 card that will play host to a flyweight title fight between Demetrious ‘Mighty Mouse’ Johnson and Wilson Reis, while Ronaldo ‘Jacare’ Souza will also be back in action fighting Robert Whittaker as he looks to maintain his middleweight title push and Rose Namajunas goes up against Michelle Waterson in a major strawweight fight.
