Ryan Bader TKO’s Antonio Rogerio Nogueira With Ground And Pound At UFC Fight Night 100

Ryan Bader dominated Antonio Rogerio Nogueira on the mat tonight at UFC Fight Night 100 with well executed takedowns and powerful ground and pound.

Round One:

The main event of the evening is underway in Sao Paulo.

Leg kick to start for Bader. Another quick one from him. Body kick now, then back to the leg. He tries for an overhand right, but doesn’t quite stick it.

Left hand for Nogueira. Bader with a punch and Nogueira counters it nicely with a hook. Nogueira now takes the center of the Octagon as Bader works on the outside.

Another nice counter left hook from Nogueira. Lil Nog looking for more strikes, but Bader foils that by landing a nice takedown close to the cage.

Nogueira looking to use the cage to stand, but Bader stays heavy and flattens him out in half guard. A few punches to the head now from Bader. They start to land harder and Nogueira has to cover up.

More right hands landing for Bader and Nogueira’s right hand is trapped so he can’t fully defend these. He gets that arm free, but Bader continues dropping hard elbows and punches.

Nasty elbows dropping down from Bader. He moves to side control, but then goes back to half-guard soon afterwards. Bader passing again to side control towards the end of the round and lands one big final elbow.

Body punch and a kick upstairs from Bader – nice combo. Punch lands for Nogueira. Bader lands a takedown. Lil Nog stands, but Bader is still latched on to him and lands a suplex.

It’s not long before Nogueira again stands, but again Bader picks him up and dumps him to the mat. Working from half guard he lands a big left hand.

Another hard left lands for Bader. Three minutes to go in the round as Bader lands a few body shots and then moves into full mount.

Nogueira scrmables back to half guard. Nogueira gets to his knees and tries to stand, but Bader takes his back and looks to sink in a rear-naked choke.

Nogueira able to escape that, but Bader is still on top and drops elbows from almost in side control. Nogueira scrambles to his knees again.

Bader flattening him out on the mat again, just manhandling the veteran here. Bader in half-guard and Nogueira trying to land a few punches from his back.

Bader slowing down a bit now and spends the remaining seconds of the round on top without working too much ground and pound.

Round Three:

Bader tries for a head kick, but it’s blocked. Punch lands for Bader. Nogueira looking for hooks, but not much snap behind them there. Solid body kick for Bader and a nice counter punch from Nogeuira.

Bader scores another takedown, in the center of the Octagon this time with most of the round remaining to work.

Bader comfortable in half guard and continues to rough up Nogueira. Not the same intensity to Bader’s ground and pound as we saw in the first round, but he’s still absolutely dominant against the veteran.

A few choppy elbow strikes landing for Bader as we reach the half-way mark in the round. Nogueira tries to grab his right arm, so Bader slugs him with the left instead.

Three right hands in a row land for Bader. Now to the body and back to the head as Bader picks up the pace, drilling Lil Nog’s head into the mat with left and rights, forcing the referee to step in and save him from further unneccessary punishment.

Very good performance from Bader that keeps him active at the top end of the 205lb division.
