Scott Jorgensen Vs Eddie Wineland Promoted To UFC On FX 3 Main Card

A bantamweight scrap between Scott Jorgensen and Eddie Wineland has been promoted to the main card of June 8th’s UFC On FX 3 event, taking the total number of bouts on the televised portion of the card to four.

Fans were given a choice of three fights to choose from (the others being Carlos Eduardo Rocha vs. Mike Pierce and Lance Benoist vs. Seth Baczynski) as part of a Harley Davidson ‘Hometown Throwdown’ promotion and picked out Jorgensen Vs Wineland to get a chance to shine on the FX event.

Jorgensen is a former WEC bantamweight title contender and currently has a 2-1 record in the UFC, while Wineland was the first ever WEC bantamweight champion, but so far has gone 0-2 inside the Octagon, albeit against high level opposition in Urijah Faber and Joseph Benavidez, both of whom he took to a decision.

Jorgensen and Wineland will help fill-out the main card of the FX show which will be headlined by a five round flyweight semi-final rematch between Ian McCall and Demetrious Johnson.

Fans also voted for Fort Lauderdale, Florida to host the ‘UFC On FX 3’ event.
