DREAM are starting to announce the MMA events they have lined up for their annual New Years Eve event in Tokyo, including the main event for the evening which sees former DREAM lightweight champion Shinya Aoki going up against veteran fighter Antonio McKee.
Aoki’s recently been plying his trade over in fellow Asian promotion ONE FC, picking up a win in his debut back in October, but they’ve loaned him out on this occasion to return to his former home.
As for McKee, following a single fight in the UFC in which he lost by split decision to Jacob Volkmann he was cut from the promotion and has since gone straight back to winning ways, notching up three wins, meaning that aside from his defeat inside the Octagon he’s strung together 14 wins.
Joining those two will be another DREAM regular Melvin Manhoef who takes on Denis Kang, while Bibiano Fernandes also returns to face Yoshiro Maeda.
There’s more MMA bouts to be announced in the weeks leading up to the show, while it will also play host to an all-star heavyweight kickboxing tournament.
