Sinead O’Connor Will Sing For Conor McGregor’s Entrance At UFC 189

Conor McGregor is going the extra mile for his walkout at UFC 189 on July 11th as it turns out he’s going to be getting sung into the arena by none other than Sinead O’Connor.

“Yay! Just got my A1 Visa to go to Las Vegas and sing Conor McGregor into his fight!!! #‎SoManyMenInTightShortsSoLittleTime‬,” O’Connor wrote on her Facebook page earlier today.

McGregor has used O’Connor’s stirring folk song, ‘The Foggy Dew’ before and the Irish singer confirmed to a fan that’s what she will be performing at the sold-out event in a little over a week’s time.

O’Connor, who like McGregor hails from Dublin, is of course a world famous singer and iconic figure in Ireland who’s best known for her early 90’s smash-hit ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ which was a No.1 around the globe.

The UFC normally don’t allow extravagant entrances for fighters, but with McGregor being the UFC’s golden child at the moment it seems that at this stage he gets to do pretty much whatever he wants!

McGregor had been expected to fight Jose Aldo for the featherweight title at the event during International Fight Week in Las Vegas, but the champion pulled out this week due to a rib injury and so Chad Mendes will now step in to take his place with the interim title up for grabs.
