Stevie Ray Vs Kajan Johnson Announced For UFC Fight Night 127

Scotland’s Stevie Ray will finally step back into the Octagon against Kajan Johnson at UFC Fight Night 127 on March 17th in London, England.

Ray had hoped that holding off on signing a new deal with the UFC prior to his last fight might have increased his bargaining power, but the move backfired when he suffered a first round KO loss to Paul Felder in Glasgow back in July of 2017.

Prior to that Ray had produced a very respectable 5-1 record in the UFC and defeated the likes of Ross Pearson and Joe Lauzon, but nevertheless, he had been left hanging by the UFC for many months after that without having another fight booked, so it will no doubt be a relief that he’s finally been handed this opportunity.

Having said that, Ray will only have a month to prepare for the fight after stepping in as a replacement for Rustam Khabilov against Johnson.

The 33-year-old Johnson is currently riding a three-fight winning streak in the UFC, defeating the likes of Zhang Lipeng, Naoyuki Kotani and Adriano Martins along the way.

Ray Vs Johnson joins a UFC Fight Night 127 card that will be headlined by a heavyweight match-up between Fabricio Werdum and Alexander Volkov, with Jimi Manuwa also scheduled to face Jan Blachowicz.
