Stipe Miocic Vs Junior dos Santos II Set For UFC 211

A heavyweight rematch between current titleholder Stipe Miocic and Junior dos Santos has been booked for UFC 211 in Dallas, Texas on May 13th.

The two previously clashed at UFC On FOX 13 in late 2014, with Dos Santos earning a hard-fought unanimous decision win on that occasion.

Since then it’s Miocic who has made the bigger strides in the division, earning TKO wins over Mark Hunt and Andrei Arlovski, before claiming the title with a first round KO against Fabricio Werdum.

He’s since extended his winning streak to four fights with another first round knockout win over Alistair Overeem.

Dos Santos has been less active over the same period, taking a year out after taking a lot of punishment during his win over Miocic, then suffering a TKO loss to Alistair Overeem.

There were fears at that stage that the former heavyweight champ may be past his best, but he’s since rebounded with a slick unanimous decision victory over Ben Rothwell and now he leapfrogs over the likes of Werdum and Cain Velasquez to fight for the title.

At the present time the bout hasn’t been officially announced and at this stage it’s the only bout currently attached to the UFC 211 event.
