Thomas Almeida TKO’s Yves Jabouin In First Round At UFC 186

Thomas Almeida really put himself on the map tonight at UFC 186 with an impressive display of slick power punching to stop Yves Jabouin by TKO inside of the first round.

Round One:

Almeida comes up short with a leg kick to start. He lands one soon after though. A couple of punches traded back and forth. Kick to the midsection from Jabouin.

Suddenly Jabouin boosts into a takedown attempt and lands it nicely good timing on that one. Jabouin posturing up, but that gives Almeida time to stand up again and he lands a kick on the way.

The two exchange kicks. Right hand over the top lands for Almeida. Jabouin with a punch and a spinning kick behind it that doesn’t quite connect.

Combination from Almeida and the right hand lands crisp. Almeida pressing forward aggressively with hard left and right punches down the pipe. He’s piecing together some great combos here and backing Jabouin up.

Good power from the Brazilian and Jabouin is wilting under this sustained onslaught of straight blows to the head and hard digs to the body.

Jabuoin is slightly hunched over against the cage just covering his head from the barrage and the referee has seen enough – Almeida makes a big statement with a TKO victory at 4.18mins of the first round.
