Famous actor and director Kevin James has been known to be a fan of mixed martial arts for a long time and he’s finally managed to incorporate it into one of his movies, the soon to be released comedy, ‘Here Comes The Boom’.
In keeping with a number of James’s recent movies like ‘Zookeeper’ and ‘Paul Blart: Mall Cop’ this looks like it’s going to be a light-hearted, by-the-numbers comedy aimed at the mainstream movie audience.
“A high school biology teacher moonlights as a mixed-martial arts fighter in an effort to raise money to save the school’s music program,” reads the movie description.
Sharing screentime alongside James and co-stars Salma Hayek and Henry Winkler will be a host of fighters and personalities from the world of MMA including Bas Rutten, Joe Rogan, Jason ‘Mayhem’ Miller, Krzysztof Soszynski and coach Mark DellaGrotte.
While his movies aren’t often critically acclaimed these days James has a good track record lately of delivering box office success with both ‘Zookeeper’ and ‘Paul Blart’ doing close to $200million worldwide so this could prove to be MMA’s most high-profile appearance on the silver-screen to date.
