Ty Miller soundly beat up Billy Ray Goff on his way to an early 3rd round TKO finish tonight at UFC Fight Night 284.
Round One
Miller with a left hand. Goff in on an early takedown attempt but has to settle for the clinch against the cage.
Miller moves away, but Goff soon gets back into the clinch. Goff trying to disrupt Miller’s balance as he spins around, but Goff does well to keep his balance and stay upright.
Goff again looking for a takedown off the clinch, but Miller turns and escapes.
Head kick attempt from Miller partially got through, but Goff catches the kick and tries to manufacture a takedown off it. Nothing doing for now though, so he’s back to clinching against the cage.
Knees to the belly from Goff. Miller punches his way out of the clinch. Low kick from Goff and straight punches from Miller.
Goff with another kick and then drives back into the clinch. Miller doing a good job of pivoting and breaking away from these clinch positions.
Miller snapping Goff’s head back with straight punches. Now a hook lands. Brief exchange of punches that Miller got the better of. Miller now piecing a few kicks together, including a head kick attempt late in the round.
Round Two
Miller lands the jab. Body kick from Goff. Kick for Miller and then a couple of clean jabs.
Now a right hand off the jab from Miller. Body kick for him. Calf kick from Goff. Miller really has his range dialled in as he lands more straight punches.
Another one-two for Miller. Inside leg kick. Another punch lands and then he slickly works to the body afterwards.
Miller lands a solid punch that drops Goff. Miller follows him down and lands some solid ground-and-pound. Goff grabbing on for dear life now and then slowly manages to works back to his feet.
Miller with a kick. Jab and then an uppercut for him. Spinning elbow attempt from Goff misses. Miller with a combination of punches. Now a lead elbow. Body work. Another jab rams home.
Miller backs Goff up against the cage with combination work. Final 10 seconds of the round and Miller continues to work to the head and body. Goff makes it to the horn, but this fight could easily be stopped at this stage as he’s just getting beaten up.
Round Three
Goff’s eyes are swelling up and his corner have curiously sent him out for the third round with a survival-only gameplan, urging him to circle and not engage, which only underlines the fact that this fight shouldn’t have gone beyond the previous round.
Miller comes forward and lands a couple of punches to Goff’s already damaged face and he wilts, which mercifully leads to the ref stepping in to end the fight soon after by TKO at 0.15mins of the third round.
