UFC 208: Ian McCall Removed From Card Yet Again

Ian ‘Uncle Creepy’ McCall just can’t get a break. The flyweight fighter has been forced out of tonight’s UFC 208 event after falling ill overnight after making weight yesterday for his prelim bout with Jared Brooks.

McCall was transferred to hospital due to “gastrointestinal issues” where doctors deemed him to be unfit to compete at the event.

Unbelievably, this is now the fifth time in a row that McCall has had a fight cancelled. Check out the full list of mishaps below:

1. McCall Vs Justin Scoggins at UFC 201: Cancelled when Scoggins failed to make weight.

2. McCall Vs Ray Borg at UFC 203: Cancelled when Borg pulled out due to illness.

3. McCall Vs Neil Seery at UFC Fight Night 99: Cancelled when McCall fell ill the day before the fight.

4. McCall Vs Neil Seery Pt.2 at UFC 208: Cancelled when Seery pulled out due to the death of his mother-in-law.

5. McCall Vs Jarred Brooks at UFC 208: Cancelled when McCall fell ill on the day of the fight.

McCall had been on the verge of retirement at times over the past couple of years before deciding to give his fighting career one last chance, but after this latest setback you have to wonder if the injury-prone 32 year-old will now think better of that idea and instead just hang up his gloves for good.

In the mean time, tonight’s UFC 208 event now proceeds with a 10-fight card headlined by the first ever UFC woman’s featherweight title between Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie.
