Following last night’s UFC 274 event the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
On this occasion the ‘Fight Of The Night’ honor was handed to a preliminary card battle between Brandon Royval and Matt Schnell, despite the fact that it only lasted for 2 minutes and 14 seconds.
The action was fast and furious during that time though, with Schnell initially dropping Royval with a right hand and then going for a guillotine choke, only for Royval to escape in the ensuing scramble and then sink in his own guillotine choke to force the tap-out.
Michael Chandler’s ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus was never in doubt after he unleashed potentially the most devastating front kick KO of all-time in the Octagon early in the second round of his fight with fellow lightweight star Tony Ferguson, who lay unconscious for a couple of minutes before coming too.
Also earning a performance bonus was Andre Fialho, who was rocked by a hook from Cameron VanCamp early in the fight after an aggressive start, but then made his opponent pay for pressing forward in search of a finish by catching him with a check left hook for a KO finish at the 2.35min mark.
