Following this evening’s UFC Fight Night 69 event in Berlin the winners of the $50,000 bonus awards were announced.
‘Fight Of The Night’ honors went to the strawweight title fight which headlined the evening’s entertainment, with Joanna Jedrzejczyk putting on a stellar display of striking over the course of three rounds that left Jessica Penne’s covered in blood but refusing to give up until the ref decided she’d taken enough punishment late in the third round.
Jedrzejczyk should probably have earned a ‘Performance Of The Night’ bonus too, but the UFC had other plans for those and that included handing one to Makwan Amirkhani who made short work of Masio Fullen with a rear-naked choke finish just 101 seconds into the contest.
Also scooping up a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award was the debuting Arnold Allen who was coming off second best against Alan Omer until he turned the fight on it’s head with a very well executed guillotine choke in the third round that quickly forced his opponent to tap out.
