Following last night’s UFC Fight Night 84 event in London, England the recipients of the evening’s $50,000 bonus awards were announced.

As you’d expect, the rollercoaster ride of a main event between Michael Bisping and Anderson Silva won ‘Fight Of The Night’ honors on this occasion. Bisping dropped Silva in the second round with a left hand, but in the final second of the third round he ate a flying knee from ‘The Spider’ that crumpled him to the mat. Silva thought the fight was over and celebrated, but the fact it was the end of the round saved Bisping and sent the fight into the championship rounds. Bisping’s face was now a mess, but he never gave in, and ultimately Silva would pay the price for not matching the Brit’s constant output and pressure over the course of the whole fight when he eventually lost by split decision to ‘The Count’.

Meanwhile, Scott Askham won a ‘Performance Of The Night’ award after stopping Chris Dempsey with a second round head kick, while Teemu Packalen also scooped up a performance bonus for his rear-naked choke finish against Thibault Gouti. Packalen took just 24 seconds to complete the finishing move, making it the third fastest submission in lightweight history.
