Urijah Faber Vs Brad Pickett Goes Down At UFC On FOX 22

A battle of bantamweight veterans, Urijah Faber and Brad Pickett has been booked for UFC On FOX 22 in Sacremento, California on December 17th.

Retirement talk has surrounded both fighers in recent times, with some believing that the 37 year-old Faber may have been on the verge of hanging up his gloves after again coming up short in a UFC title fight in his trilogy fight with long-time rival Dominick Cruz at UFC 199 in June.

That marked ‘The California Kid’s’ fourth failure to win UFC gold, but fighting is in Faber’s blood and so he’s continued to compete, though after coming out on the wrong end of a unanimous decision to Jimmie Rivera at UFC 203 in September, his mission now will be to prove that he still has what it takes to compete at the highest level.

As for Pickett, the 38 year-old is currently clinging onto a spot on the UFC’s 135lb roster by his fingerpoints after losing four of his last five fights.

While he does hold a split decision win over Francisco Rivera during that spell, he’s endured the bitter taste of defeat against Ian McCall, Chico Camus, Thomas Almeida and most recently Iuri Alcantara.

With that in mind, only a win will do for ‘One Punch’ against Faber, which will undoubtedly be easier said than done.

Faber Vs Pickett joins a UFC On FOX 22 card that’s set to be headlined by woman’s strawweight contenders Paige VanZant and Michelle Waterson, while Sage Northcutt Vs Mickey Gall will also feature on the main card.
