Video Shows Cain Velasquez Tearing His ACL 12 Days Prior To First Fight With Junior Dos Santos

Footage has emerged of what’s claimed to be the exact moment when Cain Velasquez tore his ACL just 12 days before his title fight with Junior Dos Santos at ‘UFC On FOX 1’ a year ago.

Velasquez and his camp kept quiet about the injury at the time though, deciding given the magnitude of the event that the show must go on. It’s a decision they may now regret given that Dos Santos stopped Velasquez by TKO in just 64 seconds.

While Velasquez confirmed the injury after the fight this video, shot by renowned MMA documentary-maker Bobby Razak who was filming a commercial at the gym that day, has stayed under wraps until now, emerging less than two weeks away from Velasquez rematch with Dos Santos at UFC 155.

It should be noted that Dos Santos also came into their first fight injured, having torn his meniscus in training, so let’s hope both fighters are at 100% this time around.
