With Alistair Overeem losing last weekend it’s now up in the air as to who will fight next for the UFC’s heavyweight title, so who does current champion Cain Velasquez think should get the opportunity?
Velasquez was asked that question by Ariel Helwani on Fuel TV just a couple of days ago and he was keeping his cards close to his chest.
He did however rule out a fight with Daniel Cormier, saying he doesn’t want to fight the incoming Strikeforce star who’s his coach, training partner and friend.
Velasquez also indicated that his feeling is that Junior Dos Santos should have to get a win under his belt before they lock horns for a third time in the Octagon.
Overall it appears that he’s willing to go with whatever the UFC decide, though he did state that he hopes that his next title defense will take place in the summer.
