Watch Urijah Faber And Jason Ellis Going Toe-To-Toe At Ellismania 10

Former skateboarder turned radio host Jason Ellis is well known for being an amateur MMA enthusiast who doesn’t mind throwing down when he gets the opportunity, but he took things up several notches last night at the 10th annual ‘Ellismania’ boxing event.

The 43 year-old set himself a challenge to fight ten professional opponents for one minute each in the main event of the show. Amongst the fighters chosen to face him were several former UFC stars including Forrest Griffin and Keith Jardine.

However, by all accounts it was his one minute scrap with current ufc bantamweight Urijah Faber, who for some reason was wearing jeans, where things really heated up as the 5ft 6″, 135lb fighter went in guns blazing against the 5ft 11″, 205lb Ellis.

Credit to Ellis though as he survived the slugfest and made it through all 10 rounds. As for Faber, the 35 year-old former WEC featherweight champion is set to move back up to 145lbs in May to fight Frankie Edgar at UFC Fight Night 66.

Check out some footage from the fight below.

Over the years I've watched the UFC develop into the powerhouse it is today, organizations like PRIDE, Strikeforce and WEC rise and fall, and Bellator emerge as a new force on the MMA landscape. Throughout it all I've remained captivated by the sport and I'm excited to cover what comes next here on MMA Insight.
