Al Iaquinta Vs Paul Felder Official For UFC 223

A lightweight fight between Al Iaquinta and Paul Felder has now been made official for UFC 223 on April 7th in Brooklyn, New York.

Iaquinta has only fought once in the UFC in the past three years after falling out with the UFC over his money demands, leading to him pursuing an alternative career in real estate for a while despite having been on a four-fight winning streak at the time.

However, ‘Raging’ Al’s one fight in April of last year was impressive, knocking out Diego Sanchez in 98 seconds to extend his unbeaten stretch to five bouts.

Now he’s agreed to return again to fight Paul Felder, who enjoyed a fruitful 2017 in which he racked up three victories in a row over Alessandro Ricci, Stevie Ray and Charles Oliveira, all of whom he finished inside the distance via strikes.

The icing on the cake was that Felder also managed to establish himself as a UFC color commentator over the past 12 months.

Iaquinta Vs Felder joins a UFC 223 card that also includes two major title fights, with interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson set to face Khabib Nurmagomedov, while strawweight titleholder Rose Namajunas heads straight into a rematch with former divisional queen Joanna Jedrzejczyk.
