Belal Muhammad Shuts Down Idea Of Conor McGregor Title Fight At 170lbs

Most UFC stars would jump at the chance to have a money-spinning fight with Conor Mcgregor, but welterweight champion Belal Muhammad has made it clear he’s not one of them.

In a new interview Muhammad firmly shuts down talk of potentially defending his welterweight title against Conor McGregor if the Irish superstar does return to action and beat Michael Chandler, insisting that ‘The Notorious’ simply doesn’t deserve it.

“The dude doesn’t look good in life right now,” Muhammad told Submission Radio. “He looks like he’s coked out. He looks like he’s on drugs. If he beat Michael Chandler, I wouldn’t even let him skip the line because there’s guys that worked for it. There’s guys that got here.”

And after seeing how long McGregor has made Chandler sit around waiting on a fight that might never happen, Muhammad is determined not to put himself in that position.

“For legacy-wise, obviously I’d like to slap Conor around, but there would be too much for it not happen. It took him this long to fight this fight. It took him this long to make this fight happen with Chandler. So for them to even think that Conor is going to fight for the welterweight belt and I’ve got to sit here and wait for two years. Nah, it’s not going to happen.

“I’ll give it to the guys who are actually fighting, who are actually putting the work in, the guys that deserve it. Conor doesn’t deserve it.”
