Bo Nickal vs. Jacob Malkoun In The Works For UFC 302 on June 1st

Only a week after his last fight it appears that Bo Nickal already has another fight in the works against Jacob Malkoun at UFC 302 on June 1st in Newark, New Jersey.

“Thanks for Mick Maynard [for] making this fight happen,” Malkoun stated on Instagram. “Respect to Bo Nickal and his team for accepting the fight.

“[It’s] going to be a good test but I’m ready. Not bad for an IT guy.”

A highly-decorated wrestler, the 28-year-old Nickal has so far made a smooth transition over to MMA, having gone 6-0 in the sport so far.

He initially joined the UFC last year after running through two opponents on the Contender Series, and he also finished his first two fights in the promotion in the first round as well against Jamie Pickett and Valentine Woodburn.

There was already enough hype surrounding Nickal by this stage that he was given a spot on the star-studded UFC 300 main card last weekend against Cody Brundage, and he again emerged victorious with the 4th submission win of his career so far. However, this time he did have to wait until the 2nd round to find that finish and he was critical of his own performance afterwards.

Now Nickal will be going up against another unranked opponent in the the 28-year-old Malkoun, who has gone 4-3 in the UFC so far and is coming off a TKO victory over Andre Petroski late last month.

Nickal vs. Malkoun isn’t official yet, but is expected to join a UFC 302 card that will be headlined by a lightweight title fight between Islam Makhachev and Dustin Poirier, while Sean Strickland fights Paulo Costa in the co-main event.
