A bantamweight fight between former champion Cody Garbrandt and Miles Johns has been announced for UFC Fight Night 246 in Las Vegas on October 12th.
The 33-year-old Garbrandt was last seen on the prelims of the star-studded UFC 300 event in Las Vegas earlier this year, where he succumbed to a 2nd round submission loss against former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo.
Garbrandt had gone into that fight after back-to-back wins in 2023, having beaten Trevin Jones on the scorecards and then KO’d Brian Kelleher.
That had been a rare return to form for ‘No Love’, who had gone through a torrid time both inside and outside the Octagon for years before that due to a series of brutal T(KO) losses and persistent injury woes.
Now he’ll go up against the 30-year-old Miles, who is unbeaten in his last four fights, including decision wins over Vince Morales, Cody Gibson and Douglas Silva de Andrade, though another decision win over Dan Argueta in September of last year was overturned to a no-contest after he tested positive for turinabol.
Garbrandt vs. Johns joins a UFC Fight Night 246 card that currently only has one other fight on the line-up, with Grant Dawson set to face Rafa Garcia.
