Colby Covington Calls Out Tyron Woodley After UFC 228

Stripped interim welterweight titleholder Colby Covington wasted no time in calling out Tyron Woodley after watching the undisputed champion make an impressive defense of his title against Darren Till at UFC 228 last night.

“Tyrone! You didn’t blow it!!! Time for you to come see me in The Garden,” Covington wrote on Twitter afterwards. “America’s Champ has another promise to keep.”

Covington also had some less than respectful words to say to Till, who stepped into his title contention spot after ‘Chaos’ tried to postpone the fight with Woodley until later in the year.

“@darrentill2 go home you can crushing doughboy! You were never ready for prime time junior! #ufc228 #greatamericanwinningmachine.”

Stephen Thompson also called out Woodley after the event, but Covington looked to shut him down too.

“Oh shut the hell up you virgin! You’re at the back of the line choirboy,” Covington wrote to Thompson.

The good news for Covington is that it appears that after emerging relatively unscatched from UFC 228, Woodley has now targeted UFC 230 in November as a potential landing spot for his next Octagon outing.

“The more I fight, the better I get and more confident I get,” Woodley told the media backstage following UFC 228. “So I want to stay as active as possible. If Nov. is the date they’re looking for a main event, I think they’ve got their guy.”

A day earlier Dana White had confirmed that the winner of the fight would likely go on to fight Covington next, so it looks like he may indeed fight Woodley at UFC 230 in New York City on November 3rd.
