UFC superstar Conor Mcgregor is heading to Moscow, Russia for a special press conference this Thursday.
At this stage it’s not clear what the press conference will be about, but it should be noted that it does not appear to have been arranged by the UFC, and instead is being put together by the betting site, “Parimatch,” who McGregor is a brand ambassador for.
“McGregor will meet with reporters on October 24. This is the first such event involving McGregor in Russia,” reads a press statement according to The Mac Life.
“Perhaps he will make statements about his imminent return to the octagon.”
McGregor recently launched his ‘Proper 12’ whiskey in Russia, so that may well also be a focal point for the presser.
Of course, with it being held in Russia, fans will no doubt be expecting McGregor to make some reference to the country’s hero and his most bitter rival Khabib Nurmagomedov, although ‘The Eagle’ appears to be far more interested in fights with current lightweight No.1 contender Tony Ferguson and UFC legend Georges St-Pierre at this stage, rather than a rematch with ‘The Notorious.’
McGregor recently claimed his next fight would be against Frankie Edgar in December, but Dana White has since dismissed that idea, and appeared to anger the Irishman when he told the Boston Globe that Khabib was now, ‘The Man’ who called the shots in the division.
