Cris Cyborg Vs Amanda Nunes Now Official For UFC 232

A women’s superfight between featherweight champion Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justin and bantamweight titleholder Amanda Nunes has been announced for UFC 232 on December 29th in Las Vegas.

It’s been known for some time that the UFC have been attempting to put the fight together, but it has hit several stumbling blocks along the way due to financial negotiations and getting the two stars to see eye-to-eye on the timing of their showdown.

Now the fight is official and it comes at a time when both fighters have shown their dominance in their respective divisions.

The The 33-year-old Cyborg hasn’t lost a fight in 13-years, going 21-fights unbeaten, including having now successfully defended her UFC featherweight title twice against Holly Holm and Yana Kunitskaya since initially winning the belt by TKO against Tonya Evinger in July of last year.

Meanwhile, the 30-year-old Nunes has been ruling the 135lb ranks with an iron fist, racking up seven wins in a row, (five inside the distance) including three as the divisional champion.

It’s the caliber of the opposition that she’s faced that’s most impressive here – with the run included victories over the likes of Ronda Rousey, Miesha Tate, Valentina Shevchenko (twice), Sarah McMann and Raquel Pennington.

Cyborg Vs Nunes is the only fight so far confirmed for the end-of-year UFC 232 event, but already makes it a must-watch show.
