Dana White Signals Interest In Khabib vs. GSP Fight

Up until now Dana White didn’t seem particularly interested in the idea of a superfight between Khabib Nurmagedov and Georges St-Pierre, but it seems he’s now starting to warm up to the idea.

The two fighters themselves have been dropping hints that they want to fight for some time, and though White still wants Nurmagomedov to fight Tony Ferguson first, he’s not ruling out the possibility that it could end up being GSP who gets the fight instead if things don’t work out as originally planned.

“Tony Ferguson is the fight that needs to happen,” White told TMZ Sports. “We’ve tried to do it four other times, so hopefully we can get it done this time. But that’s the fight that makes sense.

“(The fight with Georges St-Pierre) can happen, too. We’ll see what happens with Tony. Tony’s had opportunities before that he didn’t take, so if he doesn’t, I would be interested in talking about GSP.”

It remains to be seen whether St-Pierre would come out of retirement though as he’s indicated recently that he’s happy with his decision to hang up his gloves, but the fact that he still has been mentioning a fight with Khabib suggests that it’s still a real possibility.
