David Haye Interested in Boxing Match With UFC’s Jimi Manuwa

Following his KO win over Corey Anderson in the UK recently, UFC light-heavyweight fighter Jimi Manuwa expressed an interest in fighting boxing star David Haye, and it appears that’s something that interests ‘The Hayemaker’.

“David Haye, let’s do this,” Manuwa stated after his fight at UFC Fight Night 107. “We’re two of the hardest hitters in London. I think that the fight makes sense.

“Conor wants to fight Mayweather, why not have me against David Haye on the same card?”

Since then it appears the UFC have been in touch with Haye and he’s indicated that he is interested in the fight.

“Yeah we have heard from Manuwa’s management and UFC so it is something that we are looking at at the moment,” Haye told ESPN. “Obviously it is a little way off being confirmed. But it is a fight that would unify a lot of the fans from both UFC and boxing and make a mega event.”

The 36-year-old Haye is a former Heavyweight and Cruiserweight boxing champion with a 28-3, but he is coming off a loss to Tony Bellew earlier this month after suffering an achilles tendon injury mid-way through a fight he had appeared to be winning on the scorecards up until that point.

Manuwa is a year older than Haye and is currently ranked No.4 in the UFC’s light-heavyweight division, with his career record standing at 17-2.
