Edson Barboza vs. Bryce Mitchell Set For UFC Fight Night 204

Edson Barboza’s next fight will be against Bryce Mitchell at UFC Fight Night 204 on March 5th.

The 35-year-old Barboza will be seeking to get back in the win column after being TKO’d in a high-level striking battle with Giga Chikadze back in August.

Before that Barboza had compiled back-to-back wins over Makwan Amirkhani and Shane Burgos and that means he’s still holding onto the No.10 spot on the featherweight rankings heading into this match-up.

As for the 27-year-old Mitchell, he currently holds an unblemished 14-0 professional record and has so far produced five wins in a row during his time in the UFC.

That run began with decision wins against Tyler Diamond and Bobby Moffett after initially joining via The Ultimate Fighter reality show, followed by a rare twister submission finish against Matt Sayles, and since then he’s also beaten Charles Rosa and Andre Fili.

That leaves Mitchell ranked No.11 on the featherweight ladder and now Barboza stands in his way as he looks to finally break into the division’s top 10.

So far Barboza vs. Mitchell is the only fight attached to UFC Fight Night 204, which as yet does not have a confirmed location as it remains to be seen whether the UFC will start to branch out beyond their own APEX facility next year.
